The Peace and Social Concerns Committee provides Ottawa Monthly Meeting with discernment and practical advice with respect to peace, social justice and local community concerns. As well as projects carried by Friends collectively, the Committee encourages and supports individual Friends who want to deepen their understanding and act on these issues.
OMM at the People’s Social Forum
The Peace and Social Concerns Committee of the Ottawa Monthly Meeting had a table of informational materials at the People’s Social Forum, which took place in Ottawa, August 21-24. We shared materials about CFSC’s work on Aboriginal concerns and about Quaker peace efforts, such as the upcoming Youth and Militarization Conference.
